Der angepeilte Release-Termin für das MMO mit dem Arbeitstitel Titan wurde nun auf das Jahr 2016 verschoben. Dies wurde vor wenigen Tagen einigen Mitarbeitern von Blizzard mitgeteilt. Als Grund wird ein neues Konzept genannt. Es ist nicht außergewöhnlich, dass Blizzard Projekte umgestaltet oder diese sogar komplett einstellt.
Um die 70 Personen welche an Titan gearbeitet haben, wurden anderen Projekten wie z.B. World of Warcraft oder Starcraft 2 zugewiesen.
Blizzard hat sich mittlerweile wie folgt dazu geäußert.
We’ve always had a highly iterative development process, and the unannounced MMO is no exception. We’ve come to a point where we need to make some large design and technology changes to the game. We’re using this opportunity to shift some of our resources to assist with other projects while the core team adapts our technology and tools to accommodate these new changes. Note that we haven’t announced any dates for the MMO.
